These NVRs are video recorders for IP cameras. They are used to manage and record cameras in an IP video surveillance system. With these NVRs you can control all our IP cameras and also those of other manufacturers, using the ONVIF universal protocol , which is today a widespread international standard. With our IP cameras the NVR get better control of the cameras allowing to adjust all features and options.
These NVRs are part of our RK range which also includes DVRs with BNC inputs and IP cameras . This range is designed for the residential and commercial market segments. It combines excellent performance with the most convenient functions for the private user, still providing a high quality / price ratio. All cameras and video recorders in this range are suitable for our IoVedo.RK mobile app and share the same P2P cloud server and software tools for computers.
Why do NVRs exist if IP cameras can record on their SD card and can be managed with a computer? NVRs exist because they allow you to control many cameras conveniently and display them all on a monitor, without using a PC. They also come with many convenient functions that help you to centralize alarm detections, search video files and control the NVR via web. NVRs are equipped with an RJ45 network port that you can connect anywhere in your network, for example to a router or a switch. The NVR automatically detects all the onvif IP cameras you have connected to your network, both wired and wifi. If you want to see how easy it is, have a look at our video tutorial and video manuals on the side.
This range of NVRs includes all the versions you can imagine to best suit your security needs. Choose a NVR WITHOUT POE PORTS if you are building a large system or plan to extend it in the future. In these NVRs the cameras are connected to external POE switches that you can place wherever you like. See here below the diagram of a classic IP system with NVR withpout POE ports and cameras connected to switches.
If you are building a small system and your cables all come to the NVR, you can choose a NVR WITH POE PORTS . In this case, the cameras connect directly to the back of the NVR and ours do not even require configuration. NVRs with POE ports make system configuration easier, that is why we use these NVR in our plug and play POE kits . If you want to make a small system with WiFI cameras and you do not want to use your existing wifi network, you can buy our NVR WITH WIFI that let you connect your wireless cameras directly.
These NVRs allow you to display and control any onvif IP camera up to 8 or 12MP resolution, depending on the NVR model. 2-3MP cameras (1080P or Full HD) are today the most popular in CCTV systems for their excellent quality-price ratio. 4MP and 5 MP cameras are used in high level CCTV systems where higher definition and zoom capability are required. 8MP (4K) and 12MP cameras are used to achieve the highest video quality in high-end security applications. These NVRs can handle cameras with different resolutions. Therefore, when designing your system, you can use different kind of cameras according to the importance of the area. Take a look at our demo videos.
The NVRs in this range support the latest H265 and H264 video compression formats, including the latest advanced versions, to get the highest performance out of any Onvif IP camera. If your cameras support H265, the most efficient codec available today, they will work great with these NVRs, recording high quality video stream with the minimum bandwidth requirement. You can use H265+, a further advanced compression, with all our IP cameras. Here, on the side, you can download two similar clips in H264 and H265 format: please note the difference in size and the similar video quality.
The video stream of any IP camera requires a certain data bandwidth. The bandwidth required by each camera varies, depending on the settings, from a minimum of 2 MB, for 2 MP cameras, up to over 10 MB, for 4K cameras . When you choose an NVR you must be sure that it can handle enough incoming bandwidth to receive all the cameras you will connect. The large input bandwidth, up to 350MB, is one of the main advantages of our RK NVR series, over low-cost, non-professional, products.
If you're looking for a high-performance NVR to record high resolution cameras without dropping a single video frame, this NVR range is just right for you. You can record 4K and 12MP cameras at 25 FPS and play back footage in real time. You do not have to worry about adjusting the video stream in the camera configuration because the NVR will do that for you. Check in the technical data table at the bottom of this page the top-notch performance of RK NVRs in live view, recording and playback.
You can buy our NVR for IP cameras with confidence. You can then take your time to configure recording policy, alarms and all other features of the NVR to best suit your needs.
In this product range you will find a few NVRs with built-in POE ports for the cameras. They are very convenient for small IP CCTV systems where all camera cables come to the NVR. If you buy our IP cameras you do not have to set anything, because the work plug&play . In such a way you can install a purely digital video surveillance system without having to deal with computers or IP addresses. With our POE NVRs, all you have to do is connecting the products together, as shown in this figure. To connect the cameras to the NVR, use our patch cords or our cable coils. The max. distance between cameras and NVR is 100 m. or 250 m. if you enable the Extended POE function in the NVR.
The NVRs in this range are equipped with 2 monitor outputs: HDMI and VGA (not available in mini versions).
The HDMI port allows you to connect a TV or computer monitor up to 4K resolution (3840x2160) . If your CCTV system includes over 2MP (1080P) cameras, you will have great advantages in connecting a 4K monitor because it allows you to play back the full resolution of the cameras.
In addition to the HDMI port there is also a VGA port to connect PC monitors up to 2MP 1080P. These NVRs do not support low resolution analogue BNC video output. If you need BNC output you can use a VGA / BNC converter .
Please note that the HDMI video signal is not very strong. If you need to split it or transport it faraway, please use HDMI splitters and transmitters.
These network video recorders store video files on one or more internal hard disks. They can record continuously or only in case of intrusion. Once the HDD is full, the NVR automatically overwrite the old files. The NVRs come without any Hard Disk to let you choose the best disk size according to the required storage capacity. You can use any brand of SATA hard disk up to 8TB or 6TB capacity, depending on the model. Even ordinary computer hard disks work well, but for long durability special Hard Disks for video surveillance, such as those in our catalog, are recommended. Please check the datasheets at the bottom of this page to know the HDD capacity of these NVRs.
Thanks to the search functions, it is easy to find the important events in the video archive, scrolling the timeline. You can easily export video footages to be delivered to law enforcement. This backup operation can be done online with a computer, or by plugging-in a USB pendrive into the USB port of the NVR. Video files are exported in a standard AVI format and can be played with common video players such as VLC.
A few models in this range have a built-in WiFi access point for the connection of wireless IP cameras. If you have WiFi cameras in your system, you can connect them directly to the WiFi hotspot of the video recorder, without consuming resources of your external WiFi network. Our WiFi RK series cameras connect automatically thanks to a convenient Plug & Play function. However, in just a few steps, you can connect any Onvif WiFi camera to your NVR.
