Waterproof cameras with built-in infrared
illuminator are nowadays the best choice for most CCTV systems because they can see in the darkness and protect the premises 24 hours a day.
The LED's of these cameras do not emit any light which is visible to the
human eye, so at night the site remains fully dark even if the camera can
still monitor
(See tutorial on infrared illuminators).
IR LED's anyway appear slightly red in the dark and this can reveal the location of the camera.
For application which require the camera to be not visible in the dark, DSE has developed this range of IR camera with
INVISIBLE IR LED's .
|
940 nm invisible LED's
DSE IR standard cameras use 850 nm IR LED's (See
product page)
The infrared light cannot be seen by human eyes, but in spite of that, you
will see a lot of red dots if you look at the camera at night.
For those who require an IR camera absolutely invisible in the dark,
DSE developed this special range of camera using 940 nm LED's that do not generate any
visible light even in total darkness. Featuring Day&Night function, all these cameras gives color picture during
the day and turn to B&W at night. The IR LEDs turn on automatically as soon
as the light drop below 0.3 Lux and give optimal view in total darkness.

visible in the dark. |
The waterproof casing
All cameras in these range has a waterproof casing suitable to be installed outdoor without the need of
protection housings.
The black finishing of the case makes these cameras easy to hide and the attractive design is even suitable for
indoor use in any environment.
High analog video resolution
All cameras in this range are able to produce a composite video output (CVBS)
suitable to any DVR or monitor. When used in analog mode, these cameras
provides 1000TVL video resolution.

Analog HD - AHD
AHD
technology is the latest development in the analog CCTV industry and is
supported by almost all models in this range.
Launched in May 2014 by Nextchip,
worldwide leader in DSP for CCTV cameras, AHD technology brings analog
cameras up to 1MP (HD720P 1280x720), 2MP (FULL HD 1080P 1920x1080),
3MP (2048x1536) e 4MP (2560x1440) video resolution. Before AHD, megapixel resolution was only
possible using digital cameras.
Connected to latest generation
AHD DVR,
these cameras provide megapixel resolution, with no latency, still being low
cost and easy to install as standard analog cameras. Like any analog cameras, AHD
cameras can be wired by normal coaxial or twisted pair cables up to several
hundreds meters. Our range of AHD cameras includes cameras from 1 to 4 megapixel.
4 in 1 cameras (---FD4-)
All
cameras in this range with ---FD4- reference are also called: 4 in1 cameras
because, besides AHD and CVBS, they support CVI and TVI technologies as
well. CVI and TVI are high resolution analog technologies, similar to
AHD, but adopted by other manufacturers like Dahua and Hikvision. Thanks to their 4 in 1 chip,
these cameras virtually suit any DVR, of any brand or period. Unlike most
other vendors, DSE use original 4 in 1 chips from Nextchip instead of
low cost Chinese imitations that provides much worse video quality.
High CVBS analog video resolution
All cameras in this range are able to produce a composite video output (CVBS)
suitable to any DVR or monitor. AHD cameras provide 1000 TVL
when used in CVBS mode.
Image sensors
One of the most critical factors which is making the difference
among the cameras is the image sensor. CCD sensors have been for years the primary choice for CCTV cameras in
consequence of their superior pixel sensitivity. In recent times, CMOS technology
took over, being more suitable to high megapixel resolution. DSE chose
2.4 MP SONY EXMOR CMOS sensors for
all
1080P AHD cameras. Sony Exmor is the most expansive sensor on the market but
provides superior performance especially in critical light conditions.
The price of a CCTV camera with Sony Exmor sensor could be even twice the
price of a similar camera with lower profile sensor. Keep this in mind
while comparing this range with cheaper alternative solutions.
Varifocal lens
These cameras come with varifocal adjustable lens from 2.8 to 12 mm.
The angle of view and focus
can be manually set by turning 2 screws conveniently placed outside the camera
casing.
The inside mechanism
for lens adjustment is made of metal gears, much more durable and reliable
than cheaper plastic rings normally used by the majority of the other
manufacturers.
Day&Night and Removable IR cut-filter (ICR)
All cameras in this range with CMOS sensor include the day & night feature
with Infrared Cut-Filter Removable (ICR). This is a very important factor
which dramatically changes the video quality of the system and is often under
valuated even by expert CCTV installers. In order to understand the
importance of ICR we need to know a little more on the IR cut filter. Any color camera come with an IR-cut filter which is placed in front of the
sensor and prevent the sensor to be reached by IR light. Without this filter, the camera would produce unnatural
colors under day-light condition. In order to make the camera suitable to
IR light at night, these cameras come with a built-in mechanism which
automatically remove the IR cut-filter when it is dark. This function
is called ICR (IR cut-filter removable). In the entry level cameras
(RE-DCC2H only), the filter is not removable and day&night feature is
obtained buy using an IR cut-filter which actually allows some IR light to
pass through. Compared to this cheaper solution, ICR ensures better low light performance as well as perfect color rendering with day light.

Double Glass
All DSE IR cameras includes double-glass technology. The front glass
consists of 2 different glasses with a splitting ring.
The reason of this solution, much more expansive than traditional
rings, is too avoid any possible refraction of the LED's when
operating in night mode. |

OSD
with UTC remote control
The video processing of all cameras in this range is controlled
by a DSP microprocessor. A convenient On-Screen-Display (OSD) allows the user to set several camera
options.

Setting the OSD options,
the camera can be configured to perfectly suit any environmental conditions. Following main features are available to be set:
VIDEO ADJUSTMENT - Lens type, electronic shutter, AWB, AGC,
brightness, contrast etc. can be adjusted according to the environment.
SENS-UP
/ DSS - Useful functions for low-lux surveillance of dark areas
PRIVACY MASKS
- Up to 4 masking areas can be set in order to mask surveillance spots and protect people's privacy.
MIRROR - Image can be
reversed in case of backward or up side down views.
CAMERA NAME
- Camera name can be edit and display on the video
NOISE REDUCTION - Digital video noise reduction
for low-light or poor video signals (2DNR / 3DNR)
HSBLC
- Feature for masking unwanted strong light sources like vehicle headlights
BLC DWDR
- Compensation of areas with different light level, like rooms with windows
IR
THRESHOLD - IR threshold and Day and Night switching can be adjusted.
A mini joystick remote
control, conveniently placed along the camera cable, allows scrolling the On
Screen Display (OSD) and set all the advanced features of the camera.
This control is also used to switch between CVBS and AHD mode.
OSD remote control via UTC
The OSD button on the camera becomes very often hard to use once the
camera is installed. In order to allow the user to modify the OSD options
conveniently at anytime,
all DSE OSD cameras include a UTC chip which
permits to control the OSD from the other end of the video cable. All our
DN range
DVR include the UTC function and allow to set the camera OSD sitting
conveniently
in front of the monitor.

Mounting bracket
All DSE IR cameras come with a
built-in wall mounting bracket, for fixing the camera on wall or
ceiling. All bracket come with a 360° swivel that allows fixing
on both wall or ceiling.
Cable
management
All cameras are supplied with a cable-management bracket developed
to hide the connection wiring inside the bracket.
Unlike traditional brackets, that leaves the wiring visible
outside, these brackets with cable management protect the cables
from wearing out and against tampering attempts. When mounting
the camera indoor, the esthetic of the whole CCTV system is also
improved.
|
Tamper proof dome casing
RE-DCCxxx dome IR cameras include a special
blocking systems that inhibit rotating the camera from outside.
The camera can be rotated 360° inside the bracket and can be
fixed on wall or ceiling.
Deep base option

An optional deep base is available for these
invisible
IR cameras. This base (Ref. RE-DCC5BA2) can replace the standard one supplied
with the camera and provides a convenient room to keep cables and connectors
well protected from water and dust. A side hole for cable gland is
available on this base in order to accommodate external cable pipes. In
addition, the deep base keep the camera far from the wall and this can be
useful to avoid obstacles within the field of view of the camera.
Audio
Due to the IP67 protection rating, DSE waterproof cameras
come without microphone for audio. Should you need audio function, you can
install and external microphone
.
Wiring
Like all analog cameras, these cameras can be
connected by wires to any monitor, TV or, more often, video-recorder.
A 50 cm. cable with DC Plug and BNC female video connector, comes out from
the back side of the camera.
A 220VAC/12VDC power adaptor, like
RE-AL4S, can be connected to
the DC plug to power up the camera. Min 1000mA, fully
regulated, power adaptor is required. Should you prefer to provide the power from a central point you can order a
power supply unit in metal casing.
Should the adaptor be placed far from the camera, an adequate section of the
power cables must be used due to the considerable power consumption of the
IR LED's board.
Video signal must be hard-wired to TV/Monitor/VCR using RG59 or RG179 coaxial cable
(see cables). Coaxial cable must be terminated
with RE-BNCCR1, crimp type, connectors. Alternatively, the video signal can
also be wired using a twisted pair installing on both ends two
balun converters.
AHD cameras connects exactly as all other analog cameras, but provide HD
resolution only with AHD DVR. All AHD cameras can be switched to CVBS
(standard analog video) if required. 4 in 1 cameras support other 2 video
modes: CVI and TVI in order to connect to any DVR from other vendors.
All these cameras can be converted to wireless cameras using an
external transmitter.
For further information, have a look at the
DSE tutorials which
include several useful lessons about how to wire a CCTV system.
