These license plate cameras are called ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) because they are designed to record legible license plates of vehicles in any condition. These models with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) are capable to detect the license plate characters and menage a license plate database with Blacklists and Whitelists. You can use these cameras with the ANPR software included or with any other OCR license plate management software compatible with the onvif protocol.

There is a big difference between our ordinary ANPR IP cameras and these models with OCR. Our standard ANPR cameras only capture the license plate legibly and do not perform any video analysis. Instead these models with OCR, in addition to resuming the plate, are able to read the numbers. They come with an OCR algorithm that transforms the image of the number plate into an alphanumeric data. You will be amazed at the quality of the OCR function of these cameras which identify any license plate, even foreign one, with 97% reading accuracy in optimal conditions.
There are many functions that these ANPR cameras with OCR can perform.
First of all they record a LOG of the license plates that you can browse with the included software. This allows you to keep a record of vehicles, with time and photos, which can be easily checked at any time.
You can also upload a LIST OF CAR PLATES or even an entire PLATE DATABASE , through a CSV file. The camera can activate the built-in relay output based on the number plate, managing BLACKLIST and WHITELIST. You can use this function to open a barrier or an automatic gate on the basis of the vehicle's license plate. It is a convenient access control solution for companies, residential areas etc., that does not require traditional cards or keys.
These ANPR cameras are designed to be managed with our CentroRH software which is also compatible with all our RH-PRO Series cameras. This software contains a specific section for the management of license plate cameras. With CentroRH software you can: MONITOR CAR PLATES in real time with a convenient monitoring window, SEARCH FOR CAR PLATES in the log with photos and videos, ENTER NEW CAR PLATES in the camera database and SEND ALARM NOTIFICATIONS by email.
CentroRH software is free and includes a CLIENT-SERVER structure to menage several monitoring stations.
The first thing that make these camera different than ordinary cameras is the ability to make the plate legible in any condition. These cameras come with an anti-glare system that allows you to monitor license plates even at night , when normal cameras are blinded by vehicle headlights. In night mode, these cameras provide a very dark image that makes the license plate stand out, illuminated in the dark by the LEDs of the camera, as you see in this picture.
These cameras do not use automatic shutter, like normal cameras, but fixed shutter, to avoid blurring. You can set the shutter speed and other video settings with an Internet browser. The OCR algorithm provoide optimal plate recognition up to 80 Km/h. .
With low light, or at night, these cameras shoot the license plates thanks to their infrared illuminator which emits an invisible light that does not bother the drivers. The maximum capturing distance is 60 meters. The power of the LEDs can be adjusted from the computer to adapt it to the real target distance. The cameras in this range are equipped with high-performance LEDs that provide brigth illumination while maintaining relatively low power consumption. The LEDs turn on automatically below 10 lux. In night mode the camera shoots in Black/White thanks to a mechanical removal of the IR filter (ICR).
When reading license plates, perfect lens adjustment is essential. For this reason, these ANPR cameras are equipped with a motorized zoom lens that you can remotely control with a PC or NVR. These cameras come with 7-22 mm. motor zoom with autofocus to automatically focus the license plate. If necessary, you can manually tune the focus to match the target distance. Rememeber that a license plate camera must be focused to the road, so it is not meant for ordinary, wide-angle surveillance. You can adjust the zoom lens to monitor up to 3 lanes.
These cameras are mounted on the roadside using the wall bracket included. You can use them to monitor both the front or rear license plates with an optimal reading distance between 5 and 60 meters . When choosing the best position for your camera, consider that the optimal angle with respect to the vehicles direction is around 30°. Such an angle is recommended to reduce the night glare of the headlights. Remember to adjust the tilt of the camera so that vehicles stay in the frame for as long as possible and prevent the sun from facing the camera, at sunrise or sunset. For good nighttime operation, you must avoid the presence of light sources near the camera, because they could prevent the LEDs from turning on. Once the camera is mounted you can perform all the adjustments remotely with your computer or an NVR.
All cameras in this range support POE power via the network cable (IEEE 802.3af Class 3). To make them work, all you have to do is connect them via network cable to a POE switch or a POE NVR. If for some reason you cannot take advantage of POE power, for example if you use the camera with a wifi bridge, you can power the camera with a 12VDC power adapter. Only one network cable is needed to install our ANPR IP cameras.
These ANPR cameras come with 1 alarm input for the connection of sensors, switches, IR barriers and other contacts that can generate automatic alarm actions. These cameras also have an alarm output for the connection of external devices, such as sirens or automatic gates. These alarm outputs are particularly useful in these ANPR cameras with OCR to activate a device according to the car plate detected. For example you can open a gate to allow the access of vehicles.

These ANPR cameras are supplied in an IP66 waterproof casing which include wall/ceiling mounting bracket . To make the installation of these cameras easier, we have designed a waterproof junction box that you can purchase as an optional accessory. This WATERPROOF BOX is ideal to contain the terminals, protecting them from water and wearing. The front cover includes holes for the camera bracket. A user friendly menu, available in many languages, allows you to SET all system options. You can also PLAYBACK the videos which have been recorded in the camera memory, searching date and time over the timeline. With our free APP for Android and iOS, you can control your IP cameras with a mobile phone or tablet. You can WATCH up to 16 cameras on the screen. These RH series cameras include advanced digital video analysis features that allows you to detect unusual situations that occur within the camera's field of view. This Intelligent Video Analysis function, is a high-tech feature that you can use in addition to ANPR to detect suspicious actions. Several kinds of detection are available to suit all security needs. Each of these video analysis functions can be individually configured and enabled-disabled according to the time and date. When a suspicious event is detected, the cameras start recording, activate alarm output for local warning, and send out email or FTP upload. It is also possible to send out alarm signals to the CentroRH or RHC monitoring software included or to any alarm management platforms supporting the ONVIF Videoanalytics Service Spec.V220 standard.
The cameras of this RH series, like all our IP cameras, can be used with network video recorders, also called NVR. These cameras are compatible with all NVR on the market that support the Onvif protocol. If you are building a brand new system we recommend our RK Series NVRs, for perfect compatibility.
If you are using our RH series cameras for a residential system, buying an NVR is recommended, because it makes Internet connection easier with its P2P cloud server. Being designed for high security installations these RH cameras do not support P2P cloud server.
You can buy your IP products from us with confidence. These ANPR cameras come a built-in microSD card slot. You can insert a micro SD memory up to 128GB and record videos directly on the camera. You can record in case of alarm or even continuously on the base of a time scheduler. When the camera runs out of memory space, it will automatically start overwriting the oldest files. We recommend you still use the SD card in these cameras, even if you have an NVR, because it is useful to record the video clips of the vehicles.

All cameras in this range allow you to record on an external NAS. A Network Attached Storage (NAS) is a network device that holds one or more hard drives. You can record your videos on a remote NAS just in case of alarm or continuously, on the base of a time scheduler. When the memory is full, the automatic overwriting of the oldest files is normally set. Recording on external HDD allows you to achieve high video storage capacity and store your video files on a common network resource, ready to be shared with other applications.
The RH Series cameras are designed for high-tech applications where software interaction with other equipment is often required. We provide developers with free SDK libraries and APIs to control all functionalities of the cameras with their own software.
